Ripple Exclusive! New Video by Bonehawk -- Hot Mary!

Now this gets us jazzed!

“Hot Mary” is the second video release from BoneHawk’s debut album, “Albino Rhino,” which was released on November 11, 2014. The video was shot by Three Goats Moving Pictures (https://www.facebook.com/3goatsmovingpic and https://vimeo.com/3goatsmovingpic ) on Valentine’s Day, 2015 and later edited by the same crew. The opening animation sequence was produced by Chad Earnest.

“Hot Mary” was the last song written for “Albino Rhino,” beginning approximately a month prior to BoneHawk entering the studio to record the album. When it came time to name it, Chad Houts suggested they name it after a character in the film, “Dirty Harry” – a film he and band mate, Matt Helt, thoroughly enjoy (it’s the scene where Harry Callahan was looking for the Scorpio Killer in the alley, and comes upon a large, topless woman in a window, dubbed by other peepers in the alley, “Hot Mary”). Though it came together quickly, “Hot Mary” was a song that stood out nicely to the band as a “single,” if you will.

The song, as with the rest of “Albino Rhino,” was recorded and mixed on four consecutive days in Detroit, Michigan in May 2014 with Jim Diamond (Baseball Furies, the Sonics, the White Stripes, the Dirtbombs) at his Ghetto Recorders studio on 2-inch reel-to-reel. The record was mastered by Dave Gardner at Magneto Mastering (Swami Records, Earthless, Hot Snakes, Rocket From the Crypt) in Minneapolis, Minnesota not long after.  First press of vinyl sold out quicker than a greased wire pulled through pudding and has been reissued on glorious "ultraviolet"  purple vinyl. You can find it here at the band's bandcamp page.    Expect a CD issue from Ripple Music to come later this year with exclusive bonus material.
