BLACK PUSSY: Metal Injection Premieres New Video "For The Sake Of Argument" From Portland Psychedelic Rock Outfit

New Album, Magic Mustache, out Feb 17

Portland's infamous, infectiously catchy and ever-restless stoner-pop outfit Black Pussy (named for the original working title of The Rolling Stones' mega-hit "Brown Sugar"--a blatantly anti-racism tune) has been busy as usual. Aside from their perpetual nationwide touring including a North American stint with ex-Kyuss legends Vista Chino, the group has spent the last two years constantly working on heavy, psychedelic pop songs with not only Portland recording engineer Adam Pike (Red Fang, Norska, Black Elk, etc.) but also the legendary Kyuss founding drummer and multi-instrumentalist Brant BjorkThe culmination of years of hard work, psychedelic trips and perpetual touring brings to life a '70s-influenced, hide-your-daughters-because-they're-coming-to-town rock 'n' roll attitude that sounds like Tarantino directing a Thin Lizzy video in the low desert.

"For The Sake Of Argument" is the first single from Black Pussy's forthcoming album, Magic Mustache, which takes the feel of rock legends Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy and Hawkwind and combines it with the heaviness of stoner-rock giants Kyuss and Monster Magnet and a potent dose of pop sensibility reminiscent of The Cars and Queens Of The Stone Age. Filmed using an analog liquid light projector, this video utilizes a classic yet unique-looking take on the psychedlic and drug inspired imagery popularized in the '60s and '70s.
